NFL: The Cincinnati Bengals Exceeded Expectations

The Cincinnati Bengals are this season's Cinderella story. Sophomore QB Joe Burrow returned this season after tearing his left ACL and MCL and also suffering partial tears to his PCL and meniscus in his Rookie Season. New Rookie Wide Receiver Ja'Marr Chase reunited with his LSU QB and essentially decimated his competition for Offensive Rookie Of Year. After multiple years of injuries, veteran Running Back Joe Mixon managed to stay healthy all season. Add in Receiver Tee Higgins & Tight End CJ Uzomah, It's very clear to see how the banged up Bengals went from a devastating 4-11-1 record in 2021 to winning the AFC North with a commanding 10-7 record this season. Burrow & Chase carried their winning culture from the 2019 National Championship into the Bengals franchise. In my opinion, I knew on draft night that Joe Burrow was going to be a franchise QB. The leg injury in 2020 allowed the Bengals to tank and get his star WR Ja'Marr Chase in the 2021 NFL Draft. In the NFL, it's not just about the level of elite talent on both sides of the field. Precise decision making by the franchise Front Office & timing can propel a small market team all the way to a Super Bowl appearance. If the Bengals can keep this young core in tact and add great role players over time, I believe the Cincinnati Bengals can become the face of "The New Era" in the NFL.
